Coffee blossoms in the Ethiopian highlands

Our Name

What Does Addisuna Mean?

The word Addisuna is a combination of the Ethiopian capital city of Addis Ababa, interpreted here as “New World”, and the word Buna, which in Amharic and Tigrinya means coffee.

We’re Addisuna: New Coffee.

Roots

For us, Ethiopian coffee is more than where coffee began. It is our heritage, shaped by generations of tradition, community, and connection.

Our Origin

Addisuna's Origin

Izaiah and Daniel are two University of Notre Dame students who knew they would get along from day one of statistics. Together, they were determined to make the world a better place by giving back from the first of their proceeds.

The mission is simple: Enriching the mind, body, and heart through education, sports, and coffee.

What We Stand For

Mission

Addisuna exists to connect the world to Ethiopia's finest specialty coffee while investing in the future of its children. We believe every cup can create opportunity, strengthen communities, and help the next generation learn, lead, and thrive.

Vision

We envision an Ethiopia where every child has the opportunity to learn, dream boldly, and build a future filled with purpose, leadership, and hope.

Our Promise

To never compromise on quality, authenticity, or our commitment to creating educational opportunities in Ethiopia.

Two students, one promise.

We started Addisuna as two students who believed a cup of coffee could carry more than caffeine. It could carry a place, a people, and a purpose.

Coffee was born in Ethiopia, and so was the heart of this company. Every bag we roast in South Bend traces back to a single farm and a single conviction: that how we serve people matters as much as what we serve them. Ten percent of every bag goes home to education and youth in Ethiopia, because we are in this for the people, not the profit.

We do not have all of it figured out yet. But we have a promise, and a faith that keeps us honest to it: no child without a home. Thank you for being part of the story. Pour a cup, and you are already building a library with us.
